Snorkeling with Sea Lions

The experience of making snorkeling along with sea lions, it is unique and very fun since the interaction that is generated with them is within their natural habitat (Punta Loma Protected Natural Area). They are curious and restless animals, and they are generally the ones who approach groups of people. They like to play in a harmless and peaceful way and there is no need to fear them because they seem to like the presence of people in their natural environment. The objective is to remain at a safe distance and let them approach and decide the conditions of the meeting, and little by little they approach us.

We started at the diving operator to try on suits and accessories where each passenger would be assigned equipment and brief training before beginning the adventure. The navigation lasts approximately 25 minutes in which you can enjoy sightings of different species of birds in addition to the beautiful panoramic views of the Patagonian coastal seascape. Generally, groups do not exceed 10 people per outing and we have trained personnel who will take care of the people as well as the animals.

The sea lion of a hair It is a species that is distributed along the entire coast of Peninsula Valdés. The males, with their thick mane and large head, can measure 2.50 meters and weigh 350 kilos. To propel themselves underwater they use the front and rear fins as a rudder, and on land they move with all four. In the reproduction stage, the males maintain their harem and the females have offspring after 12 months of gestation. The lambing occurs a few days after arriving at our beaches.

MINOR POLICY: In cases where the service, quality and safety of the minor cannot be guaranteed using a wetsuit, the drysuit must be paid for separately, without any type of complaint or claim.
