The San Lorenzo Ranch is located within the Peninsula Valdés Protected Area, 160 kilometers from the city of Puerto Madryn. On its coasts we can experience the observation of a colony of more than 600,000 Magellanic penguins as well as experience nature surrounded by marine fossils, cliffs and ravines that flow into the sea. Within its historical and productive context, we can find the shearing shed converted into a dining room, with interpretive samples (tools, animals), observe a sheep pen and some artisan products.
We leave early in the morning to the Peninsula Valdés Protected Area. After an hour of travel we arrive at Puerto Pirámides, where we embark (optional) for Southern Right Whale watching.
The next stop is Estancia San Lorenzo, a traditional livestock establishment in the area where we can enjoy a typical Patagonian lamb grilled (lunch not included). After lunch we will visit a surprising reproductive colony of Magellanic penguins, located 7 km from the ranch.
Then, we will visit the Punta Norte provincial reserve which, depending on the season, you can see elephant seals or small sea lions, a fantastic panoramic point to see orcas (if we are lucky). From there we will return and make a stop at the Interpretation Center located on the Carlos Ameghino Isthmus. Throughout the excursion we will have the opportunity to see an important diversity of wildlife such as choiques, martinetas, guanacos, foxes, maras and armadillos.
The times and order of the places to visit may vary, depending on the season, the weather and the interests of the group.
