Dolphin Watching: Sail with Patagonian Dolphins in Engaño Bay
I had a unique encounter with the Comfrey's dolphins, small dolphins endemic to Patagonia that live in Engaño Bay.
This nautical tour starts from the Port of Rawson, where the waters of the Chubut River blend with the ocean, creating an ecosystem rich in marine life. You'll see these sociable and playful creatures freely approach the boat, leap out of the water, and ride waves alongside it.
With a Professional guide who speaks Spanish, English, French, Italian or Portuguese (check availability)This experience combines adrenaline, nature and unique landscapes.
📍 Walk itinerary
- Departure from the Port of Rawson: boarding a semi-rigid boat equipped for birdwatching
- Navigation along the last stretch of the Chubut River: Observation of the “yellow fleet” (shrimp fishing boats)
- Occasional sea lion rookery: view from the water
- Migratory bird zone: Watching cormorants, kelp gulls, oystercatchers, egrets and more
- Let's go into the open sea: Search for groups of dolphins (2 to 10 specimens)
- Encounter with the dolphins: respectful observation while they play with the boat
- Return to the port
*Each encounter is unique and unrepeatable. The dolphins decide whether to approach; we never force contact.*
