The unique conditions of the geographical space allow the possibility of enjoying the beauty of the landscapes and the richness of the marine fauna that inhabits the waters of Bahía Engaño.
A few kilometers from the city of Rawson (capital of the Province of Chubut), and at the point where the waters of the Chubut River meet the sea, the Port of Rawson rises. Next to it the spa town is located Union Beach, located in the open sea and forming part of Bahía Engaño. This adventure invites us to experience a beautiful navigation in a powerful semi-rigid to spot Toninas Overas, small dolphins that have the characteristic of being sociable, active and excellent swimmers. They themselves are the ones who often approach the boat, swimming in the bow and jumping out of the water, since they like to ride oceanic and coastal waves. They are usually seen in groups of 2 to 10 specimens.
Itinerary
-This experience starts from our pier in the Port of Rawson, traveling the last stretch of the Chubut River to its mouth, observing the typical “yellow fleet” boats dedicated to prawn fishing.
-The approach to a small occasional roosting of sea lions is achieved and an adequate approach to the different seabirds, including some migratory ones, on the banks of the river. Allowing different species to be differentiated: oystercatchers, royal and biguá cormorants, crested and spoonbill ducks, kelp and brown hooded gulls. Depending on the season, different species of terns, witch herons, goose, skimmers, etc. can be observed.
-Then we enter the impressive sea, to meet these small dolphins that have the characteristic of being sociable, active and excellent swimmers. They themselves are the ones who often approach the boat, swimming in the bow and jumping out of the water. Turning the sighting into a dynamic and fun ride.
-The trip is interpreted and accompanied throughout its journey by a guide specialized in fauna and seabirds.
